Lili + Ryans Downtown Engagement Session was a BLAST.

We kicked off this downtown Louisville engagement session with a stop at Gerties Bar, a beloved local hotspot that’s quickly become a go-to destination for couples seeking the perfect backdrop for bar-themed engagement photos. The unique charm of Gerties lies in its basement, where the ambiance radiates a classic speakeasy vibe. With its dim lighting, vintage décor, and intimate atmosphere, it’s easy to see why so many choose this spot to capture their love stories. As for the drinks, they are absolutely top-notch. Lili ordered an espresso martini, while Ryan went for the timeless old-fashioned. Both cocktails were expertly crafted, and I can say with confidence that they are some of the best in the city!

In fact, Brendan and I recently enjoyed a date night at Gerties (I’ve been craving one for a while!), and we couldn’t resist ordering the same drinks. We also had to try the bruschetta, and let me tell you—it was hands down the best I’ve ever had.

After our time at Gerties, we made our way to another iconic downtown Louisville location: the historic Court House building. Situated right in the heart of the city, this location is one of my absolute favorites for engagement photos. The grand architecture, complete with beautiful pillars and impressive steps, provides an elegant and timeless backdrop. Every time I shoot here, I’m reminded of just how stunning the venue is. To top off the session, Lili and Ryan popped a bottle of champagne, which added an extra touch of fun and celebration to the moment.

Lili and Ryan are getting married this June at The Refinery and I cannot wait for their beautiful day and banger reception!
