Christie and Landen’s wedding day was the perfect blend of timeless elegance and joyful celebration, all centered around one of Cincinnati’s most iconic venues, The Transept. From the emotional moments throughout the morning to the candlelit reception filled with energy and celebration, every part of their day felt intentional, classic, and completely centered around the people they love most.
The day began at The Transept where both Christie and Landen got ready surrounded by their closest friends and family. One of my favorite things about The Transept is how beautifully it balances historic architecture with modern luxury. Originally built as a historic church, the space is filled with soaring ceilings, dramatic stained glass windows, exposed brick, and soft natural light that photographs beautifully in every corner. It creates such a romantic atmosphere while still feeling warm and welcoming.
Christie looked absolutely stunning in her classic A-line gown with a sweetheart neckline. Her look was timeless in every sense of the word and paired perfectly with the elevated black tie feel of the day. The bridesmaids wore varying shades of green, which added so much richness and depth throughout the day, especially against the soft white, green, and purple florals. The entire color palette felt elegant, romantic, and perfectly suited for a spring wedding at The Transept.
Meanwhile, the guys kept things classic in black tuxes, bringing such a sophisticated feel to the day. One thing I loved most about Christie and Landon’s wedding party was how genuinely excited everyone was to celebrate them. The energy throughout the morning felt relaxed, joyful, and full of anticipation.
Their ceremony took place at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, a church that carries such incredible beauty and tradition. The architecture inside is breathtaking, with towering ceilings, intricate detailing, and beautiful light pouring through the stained glass.
After the ceremony, we returned to The Transept for portraits and the reception. One of the things I always love about photographing weddings at The Transept is how versatile the venue is. Whether we’re taking romantic portraits outside against the historic architecture or documenting candid moments inside the reception space, every area photographs beautifully while still allowing couples to stay fully present with their guests.
As guests entered the reception, the space completely transformed into an elegant candlelit celebration. The warm glow from the reception lighting combined with the florals and historic architecture created such an inviting atmosphere. It felt elevated and luxurious without ever feeling overly formal or stiff, which matched Christie and Landen perfectly.
From heartfelt speeches to a packed dance floor, the entire evening was full of genuine emotion and celebration. One of my favorite parts of the day was seeing how intentionally Christie and Landen created an experience where everyone felt included and cared for. Their wedding never felt rushed or overly structured. Instead, it felt like one beautiful, meaningful moment after another.
Photographing weddings at The Transept is always such a dream, but Christie and Landen made the day even more special through the way they loved each other and the people around them. Their wedding was timeless, joyful, elegant, and filled with the kind of moments that make you feel something long after the day is over.
