Hey friends!! Happy Sunday! Today’s blog post features Mark + Autumns Wedding at The Waterfront Botanical Gardens + St Boniface Church!
Autumn and Mark started the day getting ready at two different spots. Mark got ready at their home with the guys and Autumn got ready at an airbnb in Nulu with the girls. Leading up to the wedding we discussed where they would like to have their first look and majority of wedding photos. Their reception venue was the Waterfront Botanical Gardens which is beautiful but the gardens were open to the public until a certain time and it was a warm June day. We decided to go to the Louisville Public Library for their first look, portraits and bridal party photos and it was beautiful! It allowed them to have a private spot for vows + stay cool for portraits!
After that we headed over to St Boniface Church for their ceremony. St Boniface is located in downtown Louisville Kentucky and has been there since 1836.
Autumn is a master at wedding planning and all the intricate details. She worked her butt off to create the perfect day for the two of them and it certainly paid off. They had a beautiful day and their reception at Waterfront Botanical Gardens was SO fun. One of my favorite parts of the evening was hearing Autumns dads toast. It is one of the sweetest toasts I have ever heard and will always remember the sweet words he said.
What inspired your wedding day details?
Our own styles really influenced our day. We decorate our home with monochromic themes of black & whites (we joke that it’s to match our Dalmatians). But we just love the cleanness of a black and white look with small accents. So when planning the details of our decor and aesthetics, we wanted something timeless versus trendy. We also chose a formal theme to really embrace the elegance and significance of the day.
What was your favorite part of your wedding day?
Too many to count.. I truly loved the entire day from getting ready with my best friends, celebrating on the bus with our wedding party right after the ceremony, hearing our loved ones toasts, but I think my favorite was seeing Mark for the first time and exchanging ours vows during our first look. That was the moment I finally felt like I could breathe. -Autumn One of my favorite parts of the day was feeling so honored by the people that came to celebrate Autumn and I. One thing I wish I could be reminded of less is accidentally saying “awful wife” instead of “lawful wife” during our ceremony vows – a funny memory still. But the best part of the day was seeing Autumn walk down the aisle. (Mark)
What advice would you give couples planning their wedding?
Accept the help & enjoy the week of! We had family and friends coming to town days before the wedding and it was so nice to have mostly everything done so we could enjoy the entire week with loved ones.
What was the biggest surprise on your wedding day?
How quickly it passed! I wish I could relive the day of our wedding over and over again. It truly felt like the entire day lasted an hour.
How was working with the NKP team?
Amazing! Natalie and her team are wonderful. We felt so at ease and comfortable with them & had a great time!
