April 4, 2024
Hey all! Can you believe we are in 2024 already?! and that its already April? I am grateful for warmer weather and pretty blooms to be blossoming.
I am psyched to share our FIRST wedding of 2024 with you here on the blog!!! Andrew + Emory had a beautiful day on February 24,2024 ( a pretty cool wedding date!) and it was a great start to our season. They got married at St James Church + had their reception at The Refinery South! Every moment of their wedding day was planned so beautifully and you could tell how much their friends and family truly loved them and loved being a part of the day. One of my favorite moments was during her first look with her dad and then step-dad. You could just see it in their eyes that they were absolutely blown away by Emory.
From the Bride + Groom :
What inspired your wedding day details?
I always knew I wanted a black, white, and gold wedding. I wanted the whole day to feel regal and classic. After getting engaged I shared my thoughts with Andrew and he agreed. We both wanted a very classic and elegant feel to our day. The team at The Refinery really brought my dreams to life.
What was your favorite part of your wedding day?
Emory: My favorite part of the day was FINALLY getting to see Andrew. I was so nervous all morning, to the point that I was literally shaking while trying to get my hair done. I couldn’t sit still and just seeing him made me feel much more calm. I also really enjoyed getting to the reception and celebrating with our family and friends. ALSO seeing this event that I have been dreaming of my whole life come to life. I was so scared it wouldnt all flow together and it turned out better than I expected. Andrew: My favorite part of the day was also the first look. It helped calm the nerves I was feeling and I am so happy that we decided to do one. When we were originally talking about our wedding day we were on the fence on doing a first look or not. Doing a first look helped ease the nerves and helped get some of our pictures out of the way. We both really wanted to be as present as possible during the reception.
What advice would you give couples planning their wedding?
Hire a coordinator!!! Avery really made our day go as smoothly as possible. We both wanted to be as present and in the moment as possible throughout our wedding day and Avery gave us exactly that.
What was the biggest surprise on your wedding day?
How nervous I was. Neither of us slept a wink the night before the wedding and Emory could not stop shaking. I truly believe that the getting ready portion is the most stressful part of the whole day.
How was working with the NKP team?
Natalie was an absolute dream to work with. From our first conversation with her, we knew we had to book her. At our engagement shoot she made us both feel so comfortable in front of the camera and with her. She traveled all the way to bowling green, ky to photograph us at the place where our love story started and where Andrew proposed. She did checks in throughout the wedding planning process, she supplied us with sample timelines and helped Avery with our final timeline. On our wedding day the NKP team got to the getting ready locations ready to go. They made sure we got all the shots we wanted and even helped when someone was trying to change the list. We received our photos for both our engagement pictures and wedding day in record time and they are all amazing. The NKP team captured our day perfectly and I am so happy that we will have these photos to cherish forever. I am honestly amazed by the NKP and will suggest them to any bride I know looking for a photographer.
