Maddie + Jay Engagement | French Park | Cincinnati Ohio

January 6, 2023

Happy Friday, y’all! Today, I’m so excited to share the adorable engagement session of Maddie, Jay, and their sweet doggy, Chili! This session took place at the beautiful French Park in Cincinnati, and let me tell you, this park did not disappoint. The lush greenery, romantic walking paths, and scenic views made for the perfect backdrop for their photos.

As many of you know, we mainly photograph weddings in Louisville and Lexington, but we do love traveling—and Cincinnati is in our travel radius! This engagement session was so much fun, and it was such a treat to explore a new city and capture such beautiful moments. I really hope we get the chance to photograph more Cincinnati days in 2023 and beyond!

French Park: A Hidden Gem for Engagement Photos

French Park was the perfect spot for Maddie and Jay’s engagement session. If you’ve never been, it’s a quaint, peaceful park with plenty of lush green space and winding trails—it’s a beautiful hidden gem in Cincinnati. We spent the session wandering around the park, capturing the natural beauty of the location, and of course, getting plenty of candid shots of Maddie and Jay. They were both so comfortable in front of the camera, and I loved how easy it was to capture their genuine connection.

But the real star of the show was Chili—their adorable dog who was absolutely stealing the scene! I’m always thrilled when couples want to include their furry friends in their engagement photos, and Chili did not disappoint. Whether they were all walking down a path together or cuddling up on a blanket, Chili’s playful spirit and sweet nature brought an extra layer of joy to the session.

Doggies Are ALWAYS Welcome at Your Session!

Speaking of furry friends, let me just say—doggies are ALWAYS welcome at your session! As a fur mom to three dogs, I totally get wanting to include your pets in these important memories. They’re family, after all! I always encourage couples to bring their doggos along, as long as they’re comfortable and well-behaved.

A couple of tips for making sure your pup’s appearance goes smoothly:

  • Arrive a few minutes early: Let your dog get all their zoomies out and have a little time to settle before we start taking photos.
  • Bring lots of treats: This helps keep them engaged and happy!
  • Have a friend or family member come with you: They can help hold onto your pup while you two get your shots without the fur baby.

I promise, it’s so worth it to have them in the pictures, and I know Maddie and Jay will treasure these moments with Chili for years to come!

I’m also so excited to share that Maddie and Jay will be getting married in September 2023 at the Magnolia Estate—a beautiful venue that I know will be absolutely stunning for their wedding day. And I’m even more thrilled to announce that Emily, our amazing associate photographer, will be photographing their big day!

Emily is a lead photographer on our team and has worked with us for a couple of years now. She’s also our main second photographer and has quickly become an integral part of our NKP family. I’m so excited that she’ll be working with Maddie and Jay, and I know they’ll be in great hands! I can’t wait to see the gorgeous moments Emily captures for them in September, and I’ll definitely be sharing more from their wedding day once it happens!
