A Winter Wedding at The Omni and Mellwood Art Center | Louisville Wedding Photographer

Hey y’all! Todays blog post is featuring Sam and Mckennas winter wedding at the Omni and Mellwood Arts Center! This blog post is about a year over due as they just celebrated their one year anniversary! BTW, they are celebrating in Hawaii – the weather around here is in the fifties but definitely not as nice as Hawaii right now!

Sam is my brother and Brendan, Ivy and myself were all in the wedding so it was a little different of a wedding day than usual for me! I photographed the first part of the day (Details, getting ready, and first look and portraits) and the team took over once we started the rest of the day. I loved being able to photograph parts of the day and then just be able to enjoy myself and stand up there for them!

We stayed at the Omni Louisville on the night before the wedding which was so fun. We had the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner and then grabbed dessert with just the bridesmaids at the Omni and even jumped into the pool after. ( Idk this is apparently becoming a thing I do?) We got ready at the Omni and then they did their first look and portraits in the different areas of the Omni. Whats really cool about the Omni is the different locations they have available for photo spots. They have become a little more strict about their photo policy since then but if you do get the opportunity to have portraits there, it is really lovely.

They had their ceremony and reception at Mellwood Art Center and even though it was February it was a pretty mild day! They had a really beautiful ceremony and a super fun reception. Our grandma made the cake and there was so much that I was begging people to take chunks home! Mckenna danced with her mom and three brothers and Sam danced with our mom but in a different way than most! They put on sweat suits and did a choreographed hip hop routine. The night ended with a sparkler exit down the steps at Mellwood and it really was a lovely day! I hope you guys enjoy the story of their day and see it through their photos 🙂
