Lili and Ryan were married on a beautiful June day at The Refinery in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Their wedding felt deeply personal and full of meaning, with thoughtful details woven throughout the day and an atmosphere that stayed joyful even as the weather shifted.
Lili began her morning at Beauty Lou alongside her bridesmaids and mom. The space was bright, open, and filled with soft natural light, which created the perfect setting for quiet, emotional moments before the day truly began. Ryan spent the morning getting ready at a family friend’s home in Jeffersonville overlooking the river, a relaxed and meaningful space that set the tone for the day ahead.
Before seeing Ryan, Lili shared a first look with her dad and brother. These moments were full of emotion and always feel especially sacred. Soon after, Lili and Ryan met for their first look, one of those moments that feels completely still despite everything happening around you. The anticipation, the emotion, and the joy on Ryan’s face said everything.
As Lili walked down the aisle in The Refinery’s courtyard, a light rain began to fall. Rather than interrupting the ceremony, it added to the intimacy of the moment and made the day feel even more memorable. Their ceremony was heartfelt, emotional, and full of genuine connection.
The reception was filled with intentional details that reflected Lili and Ryan’s personalities and the people who mean the most to them. Guests were greeted by cardboard cutouts of their dogs, which quickly became a favorite photo spot. Lili shared a special dance with her mom, followed by an open invitation for all moms to join them on the dance floor. The night was full of laughter, meaningful moments, and happy tears. The Refinery’s industrial character, exposed brick, and open layout transformed into a warm and inviting space where friends and family celebrated well into the evening.

The Refinery continues to be one of my favorite venues for couples who want a space that feels both timeless and unique. It offers:
• A historic building filled with character
• A beautiful courtyard ceremony option
• Versatile indoor spaces that work in any season
• An industrial yet warm aesthetic that photographs beautifully
• Convenient access for guests coming from both Indiana and Kentucky
Its location right across the river from Louisville also makes it incredibly accessible while still feeling like a destination.
As Lili and Ryan’s day showed, weather can change quickly. The Refinery has beautiful indoor options, so having a solid backup plan allows you to stay present and enjoy the day no matter what.
The Ohio River and Big Four Bridge are just steps away and offer incredible variety for portraits. Even a short walk can add so much depth and visual interest to your gallery.
The Refinery’s layout allows for smooth transitions throughout the day, but building in buffer time makes everything feel calm and unrushed.
The brick walls and industrial details are part of what makes this venue special. Simple florals, greenery, and warm lighting pair beautifully with the existing architecture.
Working with vendors who know The Refinery well makes the day flow effortlessly. Familiarity with the space means fewer surprises and a smoother experience overall.
