Chelsey and Jay’s wedding day was the kind of celebration that feels effortlessly elevated from beginning to end. Every piece of their day was intentional, classic, and full of genuine joy, and it all came together so beautifully across three incredible locations – Hotel Covington, Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption and The View at Mount Adams.
The morning began at Hotel Covington, one of my favorite places for getting ready. The natural light there is always so soft and flattering, pouring in through the tall windows and creating the dreamiest setting for those quiet, anticipatory moments. Chelsey spent the morning surrounded by her closest people, slipping into an elegant lace gown that felt both timeless and refined. Her veil was truly a statement piece, delicate and flowing, adding that extra layer of romance to every moment.
Jay and his groomsmen also got ready at Hotel Covington. They dressed in classic black attire that set the tone for the entire day. There is something about a black tie look that never goes out of style, and paired with the softness of the bridesmaids’ dusty blue dresses and the white and green florals, the overall aesthetic felt clean, elevated, and incredibly cohesive.
Their ceremony took place at the breathtaking Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption. Walking into this space never gets old. The architecture alone is enough to take your breath away, with its soaring ceilings, intricate stained glass, and grand aisle that feels made for moments like this. As Chelsey walked down the aisle, the light filtering through the stained glass wrapped the entire scene in warmth and color. It was quiet, emotional, and deeply meaningful in a way that only a space like this can hold.
After the ceremony, we captured portraits that felt both classic and full of life. One of my favorite parts of the day was how relaxed everything felt. Chelsey and Jay trusted the process fully, which allowed us to move through portraits efficiently while still creating images that feel natural and true to them. Nothing felt forced. Just joyful, connected moments that reflect exactly who they are.
The evening continued at The View at Mount Adams, and this is where the entire day really came together. The View at Mount Adams is known for its panoramic skyline views, and it delivered in every possible way. As guests arrived, they were greeted with a stunning overlook of the city, creating a backdrop that felt both grand and intimate at the same time.
Inside, the reception space was filled with soft candlelight, classic white and green florals, and thoughtful details that enhanced the black tie feel without ever feeling overdone. The large windows allowed the city lights to become part of the design as the evening went on, adding depth and atmosphere to every moment.
As the night continued, the energy shifted into celebration in the best way. The dance floor filled quickly, laughter echoed through the space, and every moment felt alive and full of movement. This is always one of my favorite parts of a wedding day, when everything relaxes even further and people are simply present, celebrating without holding back.
What stood out most about Chelsey and Jay’s wedding was how intentional yet effortless it all felt. From Hotel Covington to the Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption and ending at The View at Mount Adams, every location brought its own unique character to the story of their day. And together, they created a wedding that was timeless, joyful, and completely true to them.
The View at Mount Adams provided the perfect ending to it all, a space that not only elevated the experience but allowed their celebration to feel expansive, romantic, and unforgettable. It was an honor to document every moment of it.
